Dark eyes, brown hair, fair complexion, 5’7”. Enlisted for three years on 22 Aug 1862 at Whitewater. Mustered 13 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. Promoted to Corporal. Discharged with his regiment on 25 Aug 1865 at Brownsville, Texas. Post war: Homesteaded in Erdahl Township, Grant County, Wisconsin, in 1870. Married 18 Apr 1871 to Anna Johnson. Nine children.
