Civil War: Age 18. Farmer. Blue eyes, red hair, light complexion, 5’6”. Enlisted 22 Aug 1862. Mustered 11 Sep 1862 at Dubuque. Private. Discharged from the service for disability 5 Mar 1863 at Fulton, Tennessee. Post war: Married on 7 Apr 1868 to Ragnild Olsdatter Mickelson, who had been born in Hallingdal, Norway.
