MN 10th Inf Co E. Residence: Bath Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota. Born in Norway. Came with parents from Wisconsin to Minnesota in 1859. Civil War: Age 19. Enrolled for three years on 13 Aug 1862. Mustered 13 Oct 1862 at Fort Snelling. Private. Discharged from the service with his regiment, 19 Aug 1865. Post war: Married in 1869 to Mary Hansen. Five children. Died 8 Oct 1931. Buried in North Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery. He was son of Civil War soldier Christopher Johnson who served in Company K of the Wisconsin 15th Infantry.
