On leave 7 Jun 1863. Sick in hospital at Mississippi River Island No. 10, 10 Jul 1863. Promoted to Corporal 25 Apr 1864. Seriously wounded in his leg at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864, and sent to hospital in New Albany, Indiana. Mustered out at Madison, Wisconsin, 13 Jan 1865. Post war: He lived in Edmore, Walsh County, North Dakota.
