Enlisted for three years on 10 Jan 1862 at Clermont and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 13 Feb 1862. Private. Sick in Bowling Green, Kentucky, 4 Nov 1862. Wounded at Chickamauga, Georgia, 19 Sep 1863 and sent to hospital. Later sent north. Wounded in the battle of New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864, and captured by the enemy. Died of his wounds in Andersonville Prison on 22 Jan 1865.
