Appointed Quartermaster Sergeant 12 Apr 1863. Transferred to Regimental Headquarters Quartermaster Section on 15 Oct 1863. Commissioned First Lieutenant on 29 Oct 1864. Took part in the battles of Pope’s retreat, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Resaca, Dallas, Peachtree, Siege of Atlanta. Post war: Died in Whitehall, Wisconsin.
