Mustered 20 Dec 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Seriously wounded at Chickamauga, Georgia, 19 Sep 1863, and sent to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Was absent from his company because of those wounds. He was in a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, 15 Jun 1864, and in Madison, Wisconsin, 28 Jun 1864 and there through 30 Jul 1864. He was mustered out at Madison on 9 Jan 1865, when his term of service had expired. Bounty still due of $100. He is entered on the Roll of Honor of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 20th Army Corps. Post war: Lived in Zumbrota, Minnesota.
