Taken prisoner at Stone’s River, Tennessee, 31 Dec 1862. Exchanged. Wounded at Chickamauga, Georgia, 19 Sep 1863. Was absent because of his wounds. Commissioned Second Lieutenant of Company B on 3 Jul 1863. Transferred to C Company again 25 Apr 1864 and mustered out as Sergeant on 31 Dec 1864. Post war: A man named Christian Heyer, living in Fox Lake, Dodge County, was granted a pension of $4 a month because of a wound to his right thigh.
