Bentwood Box

Round bentwood box with overlapping lid. Sides are secured by forked extensions and birch root lacing. Top of lid is decorated with chip carving in floral and geometric designs interspersed with areas of cream color rosemaling.
Brought to the United States by donor’s mother who immigrated to Minnesota from Hornindal, Nordfjord in 1905.
