Alice Holgerson Baker was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1891 to Rode and Sarah Holgerson, Norwegian immigrants from Mo i Rana, Nordland, Norway. As a retired music teacher, she had time to pursue her artistic talents. She painted, mostly watercolors, and made baskets and trays from coiled pine needles. Baker died in Burton, Washington in 1960.
