Turned bowl from a single piece of wood. Inscription on exterior rim.
Rosemaling appears to date to the eighteenth century, but the bowl may be much older. According to the donor, the bowl originated from Gubrandsdalen, but it is more typical of a west coast type of bowl. –Nils Ellingsgard, 1979
Inscription: Jeg har nu vanket i 7 mands levetid. Den 8de mig fornÿethar forlenges skal haus liv.
Translation: I have lived for seven generations. The 8th has given me new life.
