He came to Christiana Township, Dane County, Wisconsin. His wife and two children died. He married on 18 Feb 1851 Maria Hansdatter Dokka, widow of Halvor Johnsen Dokka. Civil War: Age 44. Enrolled 14 Feb 1865. Mustered 20 Feb 1865. Private. Discharged from the service with his company, 27 Sep 1865. Post war: He died 26 Mar 1900.
