IL 36th Inf Co D. Residence: Lisbon, Kendall County, Illinois. Born “Thor Thorsen Indre Bauge” at Skånevik, Hordaland, Norway, son of Thor Thorsen Fatland and Britha Anfindsdatter Indre Bauge. He came to America with his parents and siblings on “Kong Sverre”, sailing from Bergen and reaching New York on 21 Jun 1847. They came to Saratoga Township, Grundy County, Illinois. In 1855, they moved to Kendall County. Civil War: Farmer. Age 21. Unmarried. Blue eyes, light hair, fair complexion, 5’11”. Enlisted for three years on 15 Jul 1861 at Lisbon. Mustered 20 Aug 1861 at Aurora, Illinois. Private. Re-enlisted as a Veteran for three years on 1 Jan 1864 at Nashville, Tennessee. Re-mustered the same day at Cleveland, Tennessee. Discharged from the service for disability on 19 Jun 1865. Post war: He married on 25 Dec 1868 to Carrie Nelson. Six children. Became a farmer in Herscher, Kankakee County, Illinois.
