Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at Perry. Mustered 25 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. Sick at home since 9 Jan 1863, according to regimental report at end of Jan 1863. Left sick at Helena, Arkansas, 13 Aug 1863; moved to hospital Memphis, Tennessee, 24 Oct 1863; rejoined regiment in June 1864.
