Discharged from the service with his regiment, 24 Aug 1865. Post war: Came to Brandon, Minnesota, about 1884. He was married on 4 Apr 1887 to Wilhelmina Peterson. Six children. Moved into Alexandria, Minnesota, in 1892. Died at his home near Lake Victoria. Buried 29 Nov 1912.
