Blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion, 6’. Substitute. Enlisted for one year on 5 Oct 1864. Enlistment credited to Moscow, Iowa County, Wisconsin. Mustered the same day at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Private. Took part in the campaigns to Savannah and Goldsboro. Said to have taken part in the Grand review in Washington, D.C. on 24 May 1865. Discharged at Louisville, Kentucky, 18 Jul 1865. Post war: Married Hattie Hanson on 27 Dec 1872. Married Carrie Garthus on 25 Apr 1891. Died 27 Dec 1920 at Pigeon, ?.
