Enlisted for three years on 27 Dec 1861 at Christiania, Dane County, Wisconsin. Mustered 11 Jan 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Wounded at Marietta, Georgia. Wounded at Bald Knob. He was said to have been three times wounded in the war. Mustered out 13 Feb 1865. Post war: Died at age 85 at Omegn (sic), Wisconsin.
