Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at Moscow. Mustered 18 Oct 1862 at Racine, Wisconsin. Private. Left sick in camp at Memphis, Tennessee, on 23 Jun 1864. Took part in battles of Spanish Fort, Alabama; Coldwater; the siege of Vicksburg; Jackson on 12 Jul 1863; Meridian and Red River Expeditions, battle of Tupelo, campaigns in Arkansas and Missouri in 1864 and the battle of Nashville.
