WI 15th Inf Co I. Residence: Mt. Morris, Waushara County, Wisconsin. Born 24 Dec 1841. Civil War: Age 21. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 29 Oct 1861 at Mt. Morris and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 16 Nov 1861. Private. Became unfit for service and was discharged from the service at Mississippi River Island No. 10 on 30 Jan 1863. Re-enlisted in Madison, Wisconsin, 9 Jan 1864 and mustered as a veteran on 17 Feb 1864. Joined Company I at Strawberry Plains, Virginia, 31 Mar 1864. Wounded in a hand at Allatoona Mountains, Georgia, on 6 Jun 1864. Sent to a hospital, then to Madison, Wisconsin. Transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps 20 Dec 1864. Post war: Died 1 Sep 1881. Buried in Holden Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
