Enlisted for three years on 24 Oct 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 16 Nov 1861. Private. Left sick in hospital at Mississippi River Island No. 10 on 11 Jun 1862. Discharged from the service for disability on 6 Oct 1862 at Cincinnati, Ohio. He later, on 10 Feb 1865 at Dale, Wisconsin, enlisted for one year in the Wisconsin 47th Infantry, Company A (WI 47th Inf Co A). Mustered at Madison. Promoted to Corporal. Mustered out on 4 Sep 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. Post war: Married to Thorine. Farmed near Winchester. Died 1894. Buried in Winchester Cemetery; stone reads “Kittle Anunson 1836 – 1894”.
