WI 19th Inf Co E. Born “Niels Anundsen Flaata” on 7 Aug 1836 at Sauherad, Norway, son of Anund Nielsen Flaata and Ingeborg Andersdatter. He came to America with his parents and two brothers, Anders and Ole, in 1843. They came to Bonnet Prairie settlement,Wisconsin. Civil War: Post war: He was married on 8 Mar 1867 to Hansine Elisabeth Rasmusdatter (1844-1905). Four children. He operated a farm in Mapleton area, Blue Earth County, Minnesota.
