Enlisted for three years on 20 Nov 1861 at Scandinavia and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, on 20 Dec 1861. Assigned as Company Wagon Master. Sick in Columbus, Kentucky, 30 Dec 1862. Was with the provision transport from Stevenson, Alabama, in September and October, 1863. Sick in Knoxville, Tennessee, 16 Dec 1863; also 22 Jan 1864.
