MI 4th Cav Co L. Residence: Pine River, Michigan. Born 3 Apr 1828 in Kongsvinger, Hedmark, Norway, a son of Even Hammer Bøe and Anne Sørine. Came to America to Pine Plains, Michigan. Civil War: Tinsmith. Enlisted 4 Aug 1862 at Allegan, Michigan. Mustered 29 Aug 1862. Private. His company arrested Confederate president Jefferson Davis on 10 May 1865. There is a story that Davis and his wife were trying to flee, disguised under ladies coats and capes, but that Bee saw that the taller of the two was wearing spurs.
