Later he joined the IA 9th Cavalry Co F., giving his residence as Calmar, Winneshiek County, Iowa. Born in Norway; military records list Sweden. Civil War: Age 29. Enlisted 11 Nov 1863. Mustered the same day. Private. Mustered out 3 Feb 1866 at Little Rock, Arkansas. Post war: He was said to be living in Iowa in 1894.
