Enlisted for three years on 21 Aug 1862 at Milwaukee, and mustered there on 17 Sep 1862. Private. Was with the company in battles of Wauhatchie, Mission Ridge, Resaca, and at Dallas on 25 May 1864 when he was wounded and captured while taking the wrong road toward the hospital.
