Enlisted for three years on 29 Nov 1861 in Worth County and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 11 Feb 1862. Private. Left behind sick at Mississippi River Island No. 10, 11 Jun 1862. Was sick at Knoxville, Tennessee, 26 Dec 1863. Taken prisoner at Chickamauga, Georgia, 20 Sep 1863, and died of scurvy in Libby Prison, Richmond, Virginia, 10 Mar 1864.
