Enlisted for three years on 19 Aug 1862 at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Mustered 25 Sep 1862 at Oshkosh. On 1 Apr 1865, illness put him in the army hospital at Goldsboro, North Carolina. Mustered out from there on 30 Jun 1865.
