He came to America with his parents, four siblings and his grandmother on the “Columbo”, which sailed from Havre, France, and arrived in New York on 29 Aug 1846. Civil War: Farmer. Age 19. Unmarried. Gray eyes, brown hair, fair complexion, 6’1”. Enlisted for three years on 1 Sep 1861 at Spring Valley, Wisconsin. Mustered 17 Oct 1861 at Janesville, Wisconsin. Private. Re-enlisted for three years on 14 Dec 1863 at Nashville, Tennessee. Bounty $402. Re-mustered 15 Jan 1864. Mustered out on 24 Aug 1865 at Madison, Wisconsin.
