Enlisted for three years on 18 Jan 1862 in Freeborn County and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 11 Feb 1862. Private. Sick in Union City, Tennessee, 20 Jun 1862, and in Nashville, Tennessee, 12th and 26th of December 1862. Was with the provisions transport from Stevenson, Alabama, in October 1863. Wounded in a hand at Resaca, Georgia, 14 May 1864, and sent to general hospital. Mustered out with K Company, 10 Feb 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Post war: He lived in Geneva township, Freeborn County. He died 31 May 1891.
