Came to America with his older brother, also named Ole, in 1849. They came to Perry, Wisconsin and by 1860, were in Emmet County, Iowa. He was married in late 1859 or early 1860 to Turi Larsdatter Trøos (1845-1937). Two children. Civil War: Age 24. Enlisted 29 Sep 1864. Mustered 29 Sep 1864. Private.
