Enlisted for one year on 2 Sep 1864 at La Crosse. Bounty $100. Mustered the same day. Private. Recruit. Badly wounded in the battle of Nashville on 16 Dec 1864. Mustered out at Montgomery, Alabama, on 18 Aug 1865. Post war: A veteran by this name, living in Renville Station, Renville County, Minnesota, in May 1880, was granted a pension of $72 a month because of a shell wound to his head and face, resulting in total blindness.
