Enlisted for three years on 22 Feb 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Mustered 1 Mar 1864 at Camp Randall, Madison. Private. Enrollment credited to Pleasant Spring, Dane County, Wisconsin. Bounty $300, $120 still due at muster out. Joined H Company as a recruit at Camden, Arkansas, on 21 Apr 1864 from the recruiting depot at Madison. Mustered out with company on 29 Aug 1865 at Brownsville, Texas. Post war: Married Betsey Otteson in October 1874. Seven children. They moved to Brandon, Colorado, in 1910.
