Enlisted for three years on 4 Jan 1864 at Stockholm and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 16 Mar 1864. Private. Joined I Company at McDonalds Station, Tennessee. Captured by the enemy at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864. Died of diarrhea on 31 Aug 1864 in Andersonville Prison. Buried there in grave 7355. A woman named Catherine Grund of Stockholm, Pepin County, was granted a widow’s pension of $8 a month.
