Enlisted for three years on 2 Dec 1861 at Scandinavia and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 20 Dec 1861. Corporal. Was with the provision transport from Stevenson, Alabama, in October 1863. Sick in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in November and in Knoxville, Tennessee, in December 1863. Also in January 1864. Mortally wounded at Resaca, Georgia, 14 May 1864, and died in general field hospital there on 21 May 1864. Buried in the National Cemetery at Chattanooga; section K, grave 37.
