WI 15th Inf Co H. Residence: Sun Prairie, Dane County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Age 18. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 18 Nov 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 13 Feb 1862. Private. Served as a military policeman on 20 Dec 1862. Was with the provision transport from Stevenson, Alabama, in October 1863. Wounded in a leg at the battle of New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864, and sent to hospital. Was held in the regimental stockade at Chattanooga, Tennessee, on and after 14 Jan 1865, awaiting trial by General Court Martial. (There is nothing more about this in the records.)
