HANSON, Hans, Jr.

WI 1st Reg Hvy Arty Co H. Residence: Winchester, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. Born “Hans Hansen Dahlen” on 5 Aug 1834 in Hjartdal, Telemark, Norway, a son of Hans Hansen Dahlen and Ragnild Gunleksdatter Hougeberg. He came to America with his parenrts and two siblings in 1839. They came to Clayton Township, WinnebagoCounty, Wisconsin. Hans Jr. was married about 1854 to Gunhild (1829-1896). Three children. Civil War: Farmer. Married. Age 30. Blue eyes, light hair, ruddy complexion, 6’2”. Enlisted for one year on 31 Aug 1864 at Green Bay, Wisconsin, and mustered there the same day. Bounty $100. Private. Mustered out 26 Jun 1865. Post war: Died 17 Jun 1899 and was buried at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Winchester.
