Enlisted for three years on 9 Aug 1862 at Waupaca. Bounty paid $25. Mustered 5 Sep 1862 at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Private. Engaged in the battles of Chaplain Hills, Jefferson Pike, Stone’s River, Hoover Gap, Dug Gap, Chickamauga, Resaca and Altoona. Wounded near Kenesaw Mountain on 18 Jun 1864. Post war: Granted a pension of $8 a month because of a wound to his left shoulder.
