WI 11th Inf Co K. Residence: Winchester, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Farmer. Age 22. Blue eyes, sandy hair, fair complexion, 6’2”. Volunteer recruit. Enlisted for three years on 22 Feb 1864 at Green Bay, Wisconsin, and mustered there the same day. Bounty $300. Private. One of ten young Norwegian boys from Winchester who came in together volunteering this day in this place. Assigned as a drummer. Took part in the Red River campaign and in the Siege of Ft. Blakely, Alabama. Mustered out with his company on 26 Jun 1865 at Washington DC.
