HENDRICKSON, Henry

WI 16th Inf Co H. Residence: Red Cedar, Dunn County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Farmer. Age 28. Blue eyes, sandy hair, sandy complexion, 5’7”. Enlisted for three years on 31 Dec 1863 at La Crosse, Wisconsin. Mustered there the same day. Private. Recruit. Went with the regiment to Vicksburg by boat. Marched to Big Black River and back. Went by boat to Columbus, Kentucky, and helped repel an assault by a boat. Took part in the battle of Kenesaw Mountain on 27 Jun. Took part in the battle and skirmishes at Atlanta on 21 through 28 of July, and Jonesboro on 31 Aug. Marched to Savannah.
