MN 1st Reg Mounted Rangers Co B. Civil War: He was one of the “Citizen Soldiers engaged in the Sioux Indian war of 1862”. The Blue Earth City Cavalry, organized at Blue Earth City, Minnesota, 5 Sep 1862, served until 5 Oct 1862. He then joined the 1st Regiment of Minnesota Mounted Volunteers, which was organized at South Bend, Minnesota, during late September and early October, 1862, to serve three months or during the Indian War. He served until 9 Nov 1863. Later, he re-enlisted on 11 Mar 1864 as a Private and served until June 1866. Post war: In 1890, he was living in Faribault County, Minnesota.
