WI 15th Inf Co A. Residence: Chicago, Illinois. Born 2 Jan 1833 at Storhaugengaard, Lesja, Oppland, Norway, the son of Ingebrigt Ingebrigtsen and Brigit Thoresdatter. Traveled from Bodö, Nordland, to Quebec in 1857. Civil War: Blacksmith. Age 26. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 11 Oct 1861 at Chicago. Mustered 15 Nov 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin. Corporal. Severely wounded at Stone’s River, Tennessee, 31 Dec 1862, and sent to hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Returned to his unit in February, 1863. Absent sick in Stevenson, Alabama, since 27 Aug 1863. Transferred to Veterans Reserve Corp 1 Sep 1863. Post war: Married Jonette Helene Anderson in St. Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa, on 17 Nov 1866. In 1867, they moved to Pope County, Minnesota. Ten children. He was granted a pension of $6 a month because wound to his right shoulder. He died 14 Nov 1923. Buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Minnesota.
