Enlisted for three years on 21 Aug 1862 at Merton. Mustered 13 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. He was married on 14 Dec 1862 to Petrrine Matilde Katrine Berg (1840-1929). Mustered out at Brownsville, Texas, 23 Aug 1865. Post war: He became a farmer in Linden Township, Brown County, Minnesota. Six children. He died in Madelia, Watonwan County, Minnesota.
