TX McCord’s Frontier Cav Co E. CSA. Residence: Clifton, Bosque County, Texas. Born “Jens Jensen Moglebustad” or “Jens Jensen Oddersland” on 28 Mar 1835 in Brovold Prestegjeld, Tromoy, Arendal, Norway. Emigrated with his parents and six siblings to Bosque County, Texas, in 1853. Civil War: Drafted into the Confederate Army for one year on 8 Mar 1862 at Stephenville, Texas. Reenlisted for three years or the war on 20 Dec 1862 at Camp Salmon, Texas. Private. On wagon guard to Bosque County 17 April through May 1863. He was discharged 10 Jun 1863 by order from the Adjutant & Inspector General’s office; his substitute being Elias R. Skimland. Post war: There is a family story that after the war he buried his guns on his home farm and they have never been found. He died 3 Jan 1912. Buried at Rock Church, Bosque County, Texas. One source lists his death as 12 Jan 1916 in Bosque County.
