WI 15th Inf Co K. Residence: Manchester township, Freeborn County, Minnesota. Born in Lærdal, Sogn, Norway on 13 Aug 1838. Civil War: Age 24. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 20 Jan 1862 in Freeborn County and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 11 Feb 1862. Private. Wagon Master. Detached to serve with Ambulance Corps, 24 Feb 1863. Wounded at Chickamauga and again while driving an ambulance during the battle of Kenesaw Mountain. Mustered out with Company K at Chattanooga, Tennessee, 10 Feb 1865. Post war: He lived at Albert Lea, Freeborn County. Married Sena Peterson in 1871. Eight children. Died 15 Jan 1915. Buried in Central Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery.
