Civil War: Age 18. Unmarried. Farmer. Age 19. Blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion, 6’1”. Enlisted for three years on 4 Jan 1862 at Beloit, Wisconsin, and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 5 Jan 1862. Private. Was with the provision transport from Stevenson, Alabama, on 13 Oct 1863. Promoted to Corporal. Mustered out with Company G on 13 Jan 1865 at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Re-enlisted for one year on 13 Feb 1865 at Madison and assigned to Hancock Corps (WI 1st Army Corps, 1st Co) as a recruit entitled to $100 bounty. Mustered 16 Feb 1865. Mustered out 13 Feb 1866 at Elmira, New York. Post war: Died in Goodhue County, Minnesota (before 1907).
