WI 15th Inf Co I. Residence: Scandinavia, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Born in Ringebu, Norway. Civil War: Age 24. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 14 Nov 1861 at Scandinavia and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 20 Dec 1861. Private. Was with the provisions transport from Stevenson, Alabama, in September and October, 1863. Promoted to Corporal. Mustered out with I Company at Chattanooga, Tennessee, 10 Feb 1865. Post war: Jenson, in 1894, was living near Iola, Wisconsin. Shown later to be living near Osakis, Douglas County, Minnesota. Died at Brandon, Douglas County, in 1906. A stone reading “Morten Jenson 1836-1920” is in Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery, Section I Row 37, Scandinavia, Wisconsin.
