WI 14th Inf Co C. Residence: Winneconne, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. Born in Sweden. Civil War: Age 37. Laborer. Gray eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’10”. Enlisted for three years on 11 Sep 1861 at Omro, Wisconsin. Mustered 30 Jan 1862 at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Private. Was in the battles of Shiloh, Iuka, Corinth, Tuseumbia, Hatch’s, Tallahatchie, Waterford, siege of Vicksburg where he was wounded. Promoted to Corporal. Discharged from the service 26 Jun 1862. Post war: In December 1880 he was granted a pension of $2 a month because of a wound to his left shoulder.
