WI 15th Inf Co A. Residence: Chicago, Illinois. Civil War: Age 49. Married. Enlisted for three years on 24 Oct 1861 at Chicago. Mustered 27 Jan 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Detached to guard the provision stores at Camp Ethridge since 23 Jun 1862. Left behind in Iuka, Mississippi, 21 Aug 1862, because of illness. Wounded, a gunshot “through his right lung and right arm”, and taken prisoner at the battle of Chickamauga, Georgia, 19 Sep 1863. Mustered out with Company, at Chattanooga, Tennessee, on 20 Dec 1864. Post war: He moved to Dwight, Richland County, Dakota Territory, in October 1880 and became a farmer and a merchant. In October 1867 he was granted a pension of $2 a month because of a wound to his thorax. Died at Dwight, in 1911.
