Unmarried. Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’6”. Enlisted for one year on 24 Aug 1864 at Waupaca, Wisconsin. Mustered 1 Sep 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Bounty $100. Private. Mustered out 20 Jun 1865. Post war: He was married on 2 Sep 1874 to Anne Karine Eriksdatter Gulset (1847-1929). Four children. Lived in Iola, Wisconsin. From 1874 until 1900, he was a storekeeper in Scandinavia. Buried at Iola; stone reads “1843 – 1914”.
