WI 22nd Inf Co E. Residence: Fulton, Rock County, Wisconsin. Born in 1844 at Madison, Indiana (sic). Civil War: Farmer. Unmarried. Age 18. Black eyes, dark hair, dark complexion, 5’5”. Enlisted for three years on 10 Aug 1862 at Fulton. Bounty paid $25. Mustered 1 Sep 1862 at Camp Utley, Racine, Wisconsin. Private. Transferred to the Veterans Reserve Corps on 15 Mar 1865. Received a hernia due to lifting timbers to build breastworks in the Atlanta campaign. Post war: Died 1921. Buried in Riverside cemetery, Stoughton, Wisconsin.
